Position Summary

The Facilities Mechanic maintains and repairs a variety of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical components. 

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Assist with installation and adjustment of thermostats, timers, and system controls.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple building systems using appropriate tools.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records using CMMS software.
• Repair or replace defective components, wiring, and equipment, test circuits for continuity.
• Maintain inventory of tools and parts; ensure work areas are organized and safe.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair calls and participate in on-call rotation.
• Support contractors and monitor compliance during renovations or major projects.
• Enforce safety standards, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to support operational goals.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
• Protect employer’s privacy and data; keep passwords safe.

Knowledge and Skill 

• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with building automation systems and preventive maintenance practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use hand and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 80lbs occasionally and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Comfortable working in varied environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.
