Finance Technician 2

Expected starting hourly salary $24.40 to $32.59.  Full salary range $24.40 to $40.77.

Associate’s degree from an accredited college in accounting or closely related field.

OR

A combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions. 

Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.

Under supervision, codes, posts, records, and reconciles financial records and accounts. Processes accounts payable and cash receipting. Assists with periodic financial and statistical reporting and budgeting. Identifies process improvements, collaborates with others, and provides excellent customer service. Mentors, trains, and assists other staff. Is a resource in resolving accounts payable and cash receipting issues. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

• Performs accounts payable tasks, cash receipting, journal entries and/or duties related to these functions; responds to customer or vendor inquiry and corrects problems.
• Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Processes and/or audits complex accounts payables.
• Maintains and reconciles accounting records and accounts.
• Performs cash handling and bank related tasks.
• Maintains records of accounting transactions such as scanning documents, distributing mail and maintaining files.
• Assists in preparing financial reports.
• Verifies completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of data, and resolves issues.
• Assists other staff with day-to-day accounting related work.
• Works with interfaced automated systems with general ledger and other systems.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
