Duties
- Manage and maintain legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other resources to support case preparation across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, civil litigation support, and general & commercial litigation
- Coordinate client interviews by preparing questions, scheduling meetings, and documenting key information for attorneys’ review
- Assist with procedural law compliance by preparing filings for courts or agencies and tracking deadlines to ensure timely submissions
- Provide executive administrative support including calendar management, appointment scheduling, phone etiquette, and organizing meetings or hearings
- Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining meticulous records of legal documents and case progress
- Support attorneys in document review, transcription of dictations, proofreading drafts for accuracy, and managing correspondence efficiently
- Facilitate communication between clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless case flow
Experience
- Proven legal support experience with familiarity in handling diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and civil litigation support
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with legal case management software like iManage and PCLaw is highly desirable
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in document drafting and proofreading
- Experience supporting attorneys through administrative tasks such as filing court documents correctly and managing multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of procedural laws relevant to court filings across jurisdictions
- Paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint), data entry systems, and document review platforms is essential
- Exceptional client communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to foster positive relationships
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks
