Position Summary
Maintains the electrical system and equipment throughout the plant. Installs upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical safety to machinery and building.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Installation of high voltage equipment for power distribution.
Wiring of machine and support equipment.
Additions and upgrades to production machinery.
Troubleshoots machines and equipment.
Addition, repair and maintenance of the computer network system.
Calibrations and documentation of the computer network system.
Calibrations and documentation of equipment on machines and building.
Work with contractors on the maintenance and repair of electrical system.
Order parts for building, machines and plant lighting.
Complete MWO & PM cards as required.
On-call for 2nd and 3rd shifts if breakdowns or electrical problems occur.
- Troubleshooting with customers on equipment out in the field.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications – (Sr. Electrician)
College or University program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read blueprints.
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment.
Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Hearing protection recommended.
Hair, beard nets and smocks required.
Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
