We are partnering with a leading global commercial insurance organization seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Regulatory Compliance Manager to join its growing Legal & Regulatory Compliance team.

This individual will play a key role in overseeing regulatory compliance initiatives, with a primary focus on Workers' Compensation, market conduct, and regulatory reporting, while also supporting broader Property & Casualty insurance operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong insurance regulatory expertise, a practical and commercially minded approach to compliance, and the ability to partner with underwriting, claims, legal, and operational teams to navigate complex regulatory requirements.

This opportunity offers significant exposure to senior leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to make a meaningful impact within a growing insurance organization.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Oversight

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Workers' Compensation regulatory requirements, providing guidance across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Monitor changes to state insurance laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Partner with underwriting, claims, legal, and operational teams to implement regulatory changes and maintain compliant business practices.

  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives across additional commercial Property & Casualty lines as needed.

Market Conduct & Regulatory Examinations

  • Oversee market conduct compliance activities, including regulatory examinations, audits, and assessments.

  • Identify potential compliance gaps and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries, findings, and criticisms from state insurance departments.

  • Develop and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to support market conduct compliance.

Regulatory Reporting & Data Management

  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements, including Workers' Compensation data calls, Medicare reporting, EDI submissions, and other state-mandated reporting obligations.

  • Coordinate with Legal, Claims, Operations, IT, and other internal teams to ensure accurate and timely regulatory submissions.

  • Maintain relationships with regulatory and industry organizations, including NCCI, ISO, and state insurance departments.

  • Collaborate with internal data teams, vendors, and third-party administrators to address reporting requirements and data quality issues.

  • Support the resolution of workers' compensation classification codes, premium audits, and loss cost discrepancies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with underwriting, claims, legal, compliance, and operational leadership to address regulatory matters.

  • Partner with third-party claims administrators to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluate existing compliance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and regulatory oversight.

  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Provide regulatory training and guidance to business teams as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10 years of experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry, with a strong emphasis on Workers' Compensation regulatory compliance and/or market conduct.

  • Experience working within an insurance carrier environment, ideally supporting Workers' Compensation or broader commercial insurance operations.

  • Strong understanding of state insurance regulations, market conduct requirements, and regulatory reporting obligations.

  • Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations, audits, and interactions with state insurance departments.

  • Familiarity with NCCI, ISO, Medicare reporting, EDI, regulatory data calls, and Workers' Compensation reporting requirements.

  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across multiple departments.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join an established, globally recognized commercial insurance organization with a strong reputation in the industry.

  • Gain meaningful exposure to senior leadership across Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, and Claims.

  • Take ownership of key Workers' Compensation regulatory initiatives and help shape compliance processes.
