Overview
A growing financial services organization is seeking an Investment Accounting Manager to provide leadership and oversight across investment accounting activities. This role will have exposure to both GAAP and statutory reporting while partnering with Finance and other business teams on investment accounting initiatives.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced investment accounting professional who is looking to step into a leadership role with responsibility for reporting, process improvement and team development within a complex financial services environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee investment accounting activities and reporting
- Review and develop GAAP and statutory investment reports
- Support internal and external investment accounting requirements
- Partner with Finance and business teams on new investment accounting initiatives
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Provide management direction and mentorship to the investment accounting team
- Support broader financial reporting and accounting initiatives
- 5 years of investment accounting / financial reporting experience
- Strong GAAP and statutory accounting knowledge
- 2 years of management or people leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or other finance-related certification preferred
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Financial services or insurance experience preferred
