What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience Associate position at Olive My Pickle?
Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience Associate
Company: The Pickle Factory
Locations: St. Augustine and Jacksonville, FL (on-site, with travel between locations)
Job Type: Full-time
About the role
Do you walk into a store and notice the sightlines before the products? Do you think about how a seasonal display stops a customer in their tracks, draws them deeper into the store, and moves the numbers? We’d like to meet you.
Pickle Factory is hiring a Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience Associate to shape how our brand shows up in our stores and to keep the in-store experience in step with our brand and website. This is a new, hands-on role. You’ll bring a designer’s eye and a merchant’s head to everything from seasonal staging to plan-o-grams to homepage refreshes.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Team on visual direction and the promotional calendar, and with our Store Managers to bring it to life on the floor. This is a chance to do great work, see the whole business, and grow with us.
What you’ll do
Visual merchandising and in-store experience
- Plan and carry out seasonal, promotional, and marketing-driven visual merchandising and in-store staging on a calendar-driven schedule
- Design seasonal signage and choose decor accents that fit the brand
- Own the plan-o-grams from start to finish, placing products and promotional settings to drive sales and customer engagement within each store’s footprint
- Treat store space as revenue, not just decoration, and work with buying so placement decisions are good for sales as well as looks
Keeping digital and physical in sync
- Make sure the in-store and website experience looks and feels consistent
- Recommend updates to website hero images and landing pages as promotions and seasons change
- Work with Marketing on visual direction and Store Managers on execution
Planning, analysis, and teamwork
- Help build the store promotional visual calendar, strategy, and asset and decor creation
- Coordinate with Buying on merchandise and decor tied to seasonality and planning
- Share ideas on new, trending, and topical products
- Measure display and plan-o-gram changes against sales and space-productivity data
- Photograph and document store setups to keep locations consistent
- Manage the budget, inventory, and sourcing for visual merchandising materials such as decor, props, signage, and fixtures and report on activities in weekly meetings
- Train store teams on visual merchandising standards
- Keep up with retail design trends and what competitors are doing visually
What you bring
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in retail visual merchandising, store merchandising, or a closely related role
- A background or training in art, design, visual merchandising, or a related field (a degree is a plus, but a strong portfolio matters most)
- Experience executing plan-o-grams and seasonal or promotional floor sets
- Comfort with sales data and an interest in connecting creative to business results
- Strong organization and project management skills: you can juggle a calendar of deadlines across stores and teams
- A good sense of trends, with ideas about what’s next in retail and product
- Familiarity with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar) and basic website content tools (e.g., Shopify) is a plus
- A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, including comfort lifting, building, and staging displays
- A positive, can-do approach and enthusiasm for retail in a fast-paced environment
Why join us
- A newly defined role where you’ll help shape how we approach visual merchandising
- Exposure to creative, buying, digital, and store operations
- Close collaboration with our Creative, Marketing and Leadership team
- Room to grow as the role and the company grow
- Benefits include health, PTO, employee discount, etc.
How to apply
