Overview:
PT/up to 10 hrs. Responsible to maintain a safe, pleasant, and playful environment for the children of parents attending an in-person instructor led Parenting Course. Will assist the instructors with facilitating questions and trouble-shooting technical issues during online courses. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma. Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese or Arabic preferred. Starting pay rate of $20 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Supervises the children of parents attending an instructor led parenting course.
- Monitors children’s behavior to ensure a pleasant and safe environment.
- Explains childcare rules to parents and children.
- Records children present and requires parents to sign children in and out of the childcare area.
- Monitors toys and materials for cleanliness and safety
- Leads children in various creative activities and projects.
- Determines appropriate discipline methods for children with behavior problems.
- Directs all activities and actions to reflect the values, principles, and fulfillment of Olive Crest’s mission.
- Establishes and encourages an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to control a child who may be out of control or know who to call for help.
- Ability to think in a clear and reasonable manner to resolve problems in an emergency.
- Maintain a valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record of at least 3 years as required by Olive Crest’s insurance carrier.
- Must maintain vehicle insurance throughout course of employment.
- Maintain criminal record clearance.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the physical dexterity and strength to lift children, guide children who are out of control, and move play area objects.
- Must be able to walk on unstable ground and to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, use hands/ feel, climb, balance, and walk frequently.
- Apply reason in problem-solving situations where only limited standardization may exist. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Must have a philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
Time Off Benefits include:
- Up to 48 hours of sick time per year that caps at 120 hours
- Flexible use of sick hours for personal time
- Up to 40 hours per year for Jury Duty or Trial Witness
- Up to 48 hours per year for Bereavement with death in immediate family
