Duties
- Coordinate and schedule pick-up and delivery operations across multiple transportation modes, including road transportation and freight services.
- Monitor real-time vehicle locations using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other tracking tools to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, suppliers, and customers to confirm shipment details, resolve issues, and provide updates.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including order fulfillment, packing, and inventory management within warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with transportation safety regulations, international trade laws, and regulatory standards while managing freight documentation.
- Optimize routes through demand planning and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and inventory control data using ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, including inventory management, warehouse distribution, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms like AS400.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, data analysis, and communication purposes.
- Familiarity with road transportation operations, freight logistics, 3PL providers, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and shipping logistics.
- Ability to interpret international trade regulations, customs documentation, and compliance standards related to logistics operations.
- Effective team management skills to coordinate dispatchers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and procurement teams.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to handle inquiries professionally.
- Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus for understanding warehouse operations.
- Analytical mindset with experience in supply chain analytics for process improvement initiatives.
