Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for a valid Pupil Activity Permit with the Ohio Department of Education. There are four components for this permit: Fundamentals of Coaching; Concussion Training; valid CPR certification; and First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches.
Essential functions: Exhibit professional behavior, stability, and sound judgement. Ensure the safety of students and can respond appropriately to crisis situations. Promote good public relations. Communicate ideas and directives effectively. Keep abreast of new techniques and innovations.

Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a Speech and Debate Assistant Advisor position(s) available at BUILDING NAME for the 2025-26 school year. This position will lead, promote, and facilitate student athletetes to maximum potential in the chosen activity/sport by instilling ethical values, teamwork and a winning attitude; organize and coordinate practices and meetings by utilizing assistants and all available resources to promote and teach the fundamentals of the activity/sport. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, successful background checks, hold or be eligible to hold a valid aide permit (where appropriate) for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, food service management experience preferred, Food Service Manager Certification preferred, and ServeSafe Certification preferred
Employment status: Supplemental, part-time
Qualifications for the position include:
- Valid Pupil Activity Permit through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce which includes: completion of Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion Education, Valid CPR certification, and First Aide/Health Safety
- A thorough knowledge of the activity/sport being taught
- Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
Essential functions for the position include, but is not limited to:
- Ensure the safety of students
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations (i.e., emergencies, employee/parent concerns)
- Set a good moral and ethical example for athletes, the student body, and community
- Work cooperatively with the Athletic Boosters to better the athletic program
- Responsible for all equipment and inventory in conjuction with the Director of Athletics
- Set up practice schedules, itineraries and bus schedule for away games

The online Support Candidate Assessment is sent via a link under separate email cover. On occasion, the email may end up in junk or spam mail. Keep in mind that the Support Candidate Assessment is a timed assessment, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time before you begin the process. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed within the designated time frame, and multiple attempts to complete the assessment are not permitted.
