Shuttle Driver
80% Transportation
10% - Essential - Perform maintenance checks of vehicles.
10% - Essential - Maintain records of transported miles driven with paper and electronic devices.
Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Maintain contact with dispatchers and communicate if you have fallen behind schedule.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or state issued GED
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
- Must pass post offer drug screen, and DOT physical.
- Must pass MVR and background check.
- Current DOT medical cards
- Valid Truck License
