Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent
- General supervisory skills
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Commercial Drivers License Class B with Passenger & School Bus (S) Endorsement (May acquire after obtaining position)
- State Certified Driver Trainer (May acquire after obtaining position)
- Coordinate the development of safe bus routes consistent with applicable federal, state, and district policies for district schools as assigned.
- Process transportation requests and perform bus stop evaluations for assigned routes.
- Maintain and update all assigned bus routes and schedules along with transportation information in Infinite Campus in accordance with applicable federal, state, and district procedures.
- Responsible for supervising and evaluating assigned transportation staff and development of subsequent corrective action plan if necessary.
- Coordinate driver training program in accordance with the curriculum developed by the Division of Pupil Transportation at the Kentucky Department of Education.
- Plan annual eight-hour bus driver recertification as required by Kentucky Administration Regulations (KDE).
- Maintain and update all bus drivers training records and KDE driver database information.
- Acts as a liaison with parents for concerns and special requests.
- Respond to bus collisions and completes necessary reports in the absence of Assistant Director.
- Promotes high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas.
- Verifies timecards of assigned transportation staff.
- Check county roadways in the event of inclement weather.
- Performs such other reasonable duties within the scope of the transportation department as may be assigned by the Director of transportation.
- Acts as Transportation Director in the absence of director and assistant director.
