Responsibilities
- Install residential HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ventilation units according to manufacturer specifications and building codes.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform system diagnostics using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, plumbing connections, and building automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining proper documentation.
- Work safely by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper use of welding equipment when necessary for system repairs or modifications.
- Communicate clearly with customers about system operation, maintenance needs, and safety precautions to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Able to lift 75lbs consistently
- Able to climb in attics, under houses and in tight spaces
- Has hand tools and some battery-operated tools
- Able to perform start-ups and perform diagnostics if necessary
- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Removing existing equipment and duct systems
- Brazing
- Wiring basic systems, right on up to variable speed, multi-stage equipment
- Running refrigerant lines and low voltage wiring
- Pressure checking and leak searching before start-up
- Pulling systems into a deep vacuum before start-up
- Releasing the refrigerant charge, adding/subtracting/weighing-in charge based on sub- cooling
- Verifying drainage after start-up
- Installing electrical circuits to power AC equipment
- Running drain lines
- Removing and replacing duct systems in attics and crawlspaces
- Installing whole-house dehumidifiers
- Installing various mini split types - ducted, high wall, ceiling cassettes, pancakes and floor mounts
- Installing furnaces & AC units, heat pumps, air handlers and packaged equipment
