Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a CAD Drafter Intern to support the engineering and design team. This internship is an entry-level, developmental role focused on learning drafting standards, CAD tools, and internal workflows within a manufacturing environment. The intern will assist with basic drawing production and revisions while gaining hands-on experience with engineering documentation.
This position is expected to start in-person around May 2026 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e., May 2026 through August 2026). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
Job Location
- This is an onsite position located in Pleasanton, CA.
Job Responsibilities
- Produce basic 2D drawings and redlines under supervision
- Assist with revisions and updates to existing CAD drawings
- Follow established company and industry CAD standards
- Support the organization of drawing sets and sheet layouts
- Maintain CAD files in accordance with internal document control practices
- Collaborate with engineering and design team members to translate concepts into drawings
- Update/maintain digital database, i.e. Autodesk vault, cloud server, hard-copies and engineering documents
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail in all assigned drafting work
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Design Drafting and Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Engineering Technology, or other related degrees
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software, with Autodesk Inventor experience preferred
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and willingness to learn
Compensation
The hourly pay is $25.00/hr.
