Food Runner/Busser

Full Job Description

We are seeking a Full Time or Part Time Food Runner / Busser to join our team!

The food runner is an integral part of the operation as they are the go between front and back of house. The food runner is ensuring that food is moving out of the kitchen to tables, quickly and accurately, accompanied by the proper utensils, or condiments needed to enjoy. They are communicating to the chefs if an order is incomplete, or the member or server asks for something.

The busser is on the floor making sure members have everything needed for the best dining experience from when they are seated to the time they leave. Making sure water is poured, bread and butter is given, plates are cleared, and tables are cleaned as needed. They will also be able to relay information if something is needed to the server or there is an issue or concern to the manager.

Runner:

• Pulls food tickets as they come into the kitchen, and lines them up in order received.
• As meals come up in the food window they will pull and make sure the complete. before leaving the kitchen. If there is an item missing they will communicate that to the chefs.
• Once ready deliver food orders to members quickly and accurately at their tables.
• If the server is at the table they will take over, if they are not then you will serve the food. Be sure to ask if there is anything needed before walking away.
• Complete all opening and closing side work, and other duties as assigned by manager.
• May assist running if there is a banquet or other event taking place during the meal period.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow all sanitation and food safety protocols.

Busser:

• Greets the table and pours water for everyone.
• Comes back with bread and butter for amount of members at each table.
• Refills water and busses tables as members go through the meal, removing dirty dishes, empty glasses, and trash.
• Once the table has left, table should be cleared off and cleaned as soon as possible.
• Assists with opening and closing side work as assigned, and any other duties as assigned by manager
• Ability to answer various questions and requests from members, and alert server or manager as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in restaurant, food service, or related field
• Some food knowledge, ability to learn quickly and retain information
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail, team player
• Must be able to stand, lift, walk for periods of time, carry trays on shoulder
• Reliable Transportation, over 16 years old, open availability Wednesday- Sunday evenings, some holidays

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
