What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Sales Representative position at Old School?
The Direct Sales Representative is knowledgeable of products and services offered by Old School. They are representatives and brand ambassadors that greet customers in a proper manner, build rapport, and educate everyone on the many different products and inform customers and vendors what sets Old School apart from other glass stores.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify that customer identification is proper and valid
- Facilitate sales and operate the point of sale system (POS)
- Educate customers about the variety of products carried.
- Upsell effectively and consistently
- Meet or exceed monthly company sales objectives
- Ensure customer satisfaction by verifying correct products at checkout
- Provide recommendations on cannabis products based on customer requests
- Advise customers on proper safety measures to follow when using products from the sales floor
- Assist in various operations as needed, including maintaining hygienic conditions
- Assist with the training of new hires as directed
- Ensure product is continuously stocked and cleaned.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age
2 years of sales and/or customer service experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to take and obey orders as well as follow the company’s Standard Operating Procedures
Possess an entrepreneur mindset
Must be honest, courteous, and respectful to coworkers and superiors alike
Must be reliable
Must have reliable transportation
Must maintain a professional and hygienic appearance
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work efficiently with our point of sale system
Ability to stand for several hours at a time
Ability to be flexible and work multiple positions as needed
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and consistently provide exceptional customer service
Ability to work and interact with customers in a respectable and courteous manner
Ability to show initiative, critical thinking, and attentiveness to detail
Ability to quickly and accurately work with, count, and count back cash to customers

Marketing experience
Ability to learn and use various computer programs and apps efficiently
2 years point of sales experience
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level on a continuous basis
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
Pay: From $14.05 per hour
