Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our dental team. This role is vital in ensuring accurate insurance coverage verification for patients, facilitating smooth billing processes, and supporting overall office operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical/dental office procedures, and possess strong knowledge of dental terminology and coding systems such as CDT coding. Duties
- Verify patient insurance coverage by contacting insurance providers and reviewing policy details
- Ensure all insurance information is accurately entered into the system while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Assist with dental records management and ensure proper documentation for billing purposes
- Utilize dental coding knowledge, including CDT coding standards, to support claims processing
- Communicate effectively with managed care organizations to resolve coverage issues or obtain pre-authorizations
- Support the billing department by providing accurate insurance verification data to facilitate timely claims submission
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and coding updates relevant to the practice
- Assist with office administrative tasks related to insurance processing, patient account management & patient scheduling
Experience
- Previous experience in a dental office setting or healthcare environment is preferred
- Knowledge of managed care processes and insurance verification procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Experience with dental terminology, medical or dental records management, and dental coding
- Dental office experience is advantageous but not required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with insurance providers and dental staff
