What You’ll Do
- Gain insight into title searches, reports, and policies while supporting daily title department functions.
- Assist and shadow title examiners in reviewing title documents for residential and commercial real estate transactions.
- Conduct legal research on property laws, endorsements, and policy coverages.
- Help examine public records, liens, and encumbrances to ensure clear property titles.
- Work with attorneys, escrow officers, and sales teams to address underwriting questions.
- Participate in training sessions, webinars, and team meetings to enhance industry knowledge.
- Gain exposure to real estate law, compliance, and risk assessment in underwriting.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of operations of a title plant.
- Currently enrolled in a law, business, finance, or real estate program.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with legal documents.
- Interest in real estate law, contracts, and financial risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn about the real estate, escrow, and title industry.
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Gain hands-on experience in the title insurance industry.
- Work alongside experienced attorneys and underwriting professionals to expand your professional network.
- Develop valuable skills that could lead to a future career in real estate law or title insurance.
