Job Description
The Auditor is responsible for evaluating agency internal controls, operational procedures, and compliance with industry regulations and company requirements. This role ensures that agency title operations, escrow processes, and underwriting practices align with legal standards and internal risk management frameworks.
- This position is in office or hybrid.
- Must be able to complete day travel within the state 30%-40% of the time.
- Conduct agency audits of title and escrow operations, including file reviews, disbursement procedures, and underwriting practices.
- Evaluate compliance with ALTA Best Practices, state regulations, and company policies.
- Identify process inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and areas of potential risk.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations for process improvement, and Issue audit reports to Management with the proper distribution lists.
- Complete all required statutory audits, prepare related reports, and submit those reports to the regulatory departments.
- Work with the team to develop the audit schedule.
- Stay current on changes in title insurance laws, escrow regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure regulatory readiness.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding issues when tasked.
- Assist in the development of Agency Operations department needs such as audit programs and compliance monitoring.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and completes mandatory company compliance training by assigned deadlines.
- Be dependable, reliable and punctual attendance is required, which may include in-office attendance or attendance at company, industry or other events that occur outside regular business hours.
- Have the ability to accept supervision and direction, as well as constructive feedback.
Position's Pay Range
$70,000 - $80,000
