Position Overview:
Old Republic is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Year Round Internship Program as a Tax Intern. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various departments, develop professional skills, and build meaningful connections in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This intern will contribute to real projects, learn from experienced professionals, and gain insight into the operations and culture of our organization.
Program Objectives:
- Provide interns with practical, hands-on experience in a professional setting.
- Develop key skills, including communication, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork and collaboration.
- Introduce interns to various aspects of the organization and potential career paths.
- Support interns in completing a capstone project and delivering a final presentation to stakeholders, demonstrating applied skills and strategic thinking.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns under the supervision of senior tax professionals.
- Conduct tax research using internal resources and online tax research tools to identify applicable tax laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Gain exposure to income tax accounting concepts
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Strong time management skills and prioritizing competing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
