Walpole Public Schools seeks a Digital Learning Coach for Old Post Road Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Description:
The Digital Learning Coach’s primary responsibilities are to assist the professional learning community in developing innovative practices and effectively integrating digital tools and resources within the curriculum. The DLC will work with the Director of Digital Learning and district IT staff (as appropriate) to support the integration of technology resources into the curriculum and ensure effective use of classroom technology. This job description will be reviewed annually to maintain currency with changing technology needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support innovative instruction and learning in the classroom utilizing digital tools and resources that promote empowering learners (staff and students) to be collaborators, communicators, creative and critical thinkers
- Facilitate the development of curriculum units and lessons where the use of technology actively engages students and transforms lessons, extending the reach of learning to a global scale (i.e., SAMR model)
- Facilitate research and information literacy skills geared toward project based learning activities that develop critical thinking/problem solving skills, and creating projects that focus on real-world and relevant issues
- Develop resources and conduct professional development activities including workshops and video tutorials
- Collaborate with teachers to incorporate the Digital Learning and Computer Science standards
- Identify and model Universally Designed Learning and Assistive technologies to support all learners, including those with specialized needs and ELL
- Provide support to all staff in the use of administrative tools and applications
- Manage Chromebook enrollment process and classroom allocations
- Collaborate with staff to guide the evaluation and recommendation of technology and digital learning resources
- Develop, lead and facilitate innovative learning experiences (e.g. Project-Based Learning)
- Provide end-user training on basic operation, navigation, safety and security of hardware, software, Google Apps, digital subscriptions, student and staff user accounts, network, and Internet connectivity.
- Provide basic Tier 1 support of computers, printers, and peripherals in the user environment whenever possible.
- Work with district support staff to deploy and/or decommission devices and other assignments as needed.
- Oversee software subscription maintenance and user account management.
- Place and track technology supply orders
- Support online assessments, including state-mandated tests as well as building-based subscriptions.
- Contribute to work orders/tech support requests and provide timely response.
- Maintain equipment to maximize life-cycle.
- Routinely update skills to meet changing technical environments.
Experience/training/skills:
- GSuite applications and Chrome apps/extensions
- Video creation/editing tools
- Working knowledge of Windows, iOS, Chrome operating systems, hardware and peripherals
- Knowledge and understanding of MA Curriculum Frameworks for appropriate grade spans, as well as current Digital Learning and Computer Science standards
- Demonstrates understanding of and ability to teach students with diverse learning styles and needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with professional staff and the IT department
Current MA DESE Teacher license required.
