Salary: SUMMARYThe Human Resource Associate at Old North State Trust supports the full employee experiencefrom recruitment and onboarding to benefits, compliance, and culture initiativeswhile ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and alignment with the companys values. This role helps foster a workplace grounded in integrity, kindness, and teamwork, contributing to ONSTs commitment to generational success and strong relationships.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Talent Acquisition & OnboardingRecruit and hire for both administrative and fiduciary positions (trust officers, portfolio managers, compliance staff, etc.).Build up and foster ONST presence for employee recruitment.Conduct background checks, fingerprinting, and reference verifications.Draft offer letters and employment agreements.Coordinate and actively participate in onboarding and orientation (systems access, policies, benefits enrollment).Ensure staff understand Employee handbooks to include confidentiality, and compliance expectations.Post and mange open positions on Bamboo HR and other hiring platforms.Lead as hiring manage for all ONST positions.Recruit and hire for both administrative and fiduciary positions (trust officers, portfolio managers, compliance staff, etc.) Employee Relations & CultureAct as a liaison between management and employees.Support healthy communication and conflict resolution.Administer and oversee performance reviews and feedback processes.Reinforce company values and professional standards (e.g., integrity, trust, and client focus) by 100% participation in companywide meetings etc.Create and coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.Stay attuned to work trends within the industry, acting as a liaison between management and employees.Compliance & Regulatory RequirementsMaintain tracking of employee licensing, certifications, and continuing education (trust officer training, fiduciary law updates, etc.)Support compliance audits related to HR (e.g., personnel files, training logs)Manage personal file retention and confidentiality per financial industry regulations.Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and employment laws.Compensation & BenefitsManage Bamboo HR systemWork with ONST Team members regarding payroll and benefits.Administering benefit programs (health, dental, 401(k), disability, etc.)Oversee Employee Performance reviews.Conduct compensation benchmarking within the financial service industry. Training & DevelopmentDevelop and over-see training programs for professional growth of employee base including internships.Coordinate and manage initiatives regarding mentorships.Coordinate and manage continuing education for CFPs, CFAs, CTFAs, or other company recognized designations.Policy, Risk, & GovernanceMaintain employee handbook.Support Compliance Officer with HR-related matters to include policies and documents.Oversee employee disciplinary actions in alignment with company ethics and regulations.Report on HR metrics to Leadership Team. (e.g., turnover, engagement). Offboarding & TransitionsConduct in person terminations.Conduct exit interviews.Ensure return of company property and termination of system access.Point of contact for benefits after end of employment. (COBRA, retirement plans).Respond to inquiries related to offboarding (ex. Department Employment Security).Document departures for audit and regulatory purposes.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
