What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Back Office position at Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics?
Responsibilities:
- Back office duties include taking vital signs with accurate weight and height
- greet and check in patients
- Giving vaccinations and adding them to the GRITS registry
- Checking patients into exam room and obtaining brief history
- managing supplies
- performing in office lab tests that may include finger prick blood tests, throat swabs, COVID tests, urinalysis, lipid panels, blood glucose
- assist in making appointments
- answer phones
- assist when needed with checking patients out (providing records, work and school excuses)
- be a team player in a busy office - which may require assisting in additional tasks
Ideal candidate must have excellent people skills particularly in dealing with children and stressed parents. Experience working in a Pediatric office is required. Must be able to present a welcoming pleasant and professional demeanor at all times. Candidate must be detail oriented able to acquire and enter consistently accurate data into the EMR. Candidate needs to understand how to deal with stressful environments and be an eager and helpful problem solver when patient's parents are presenting difficult situations. Candidate must be a multitasker and a team player, willing to fill in and assist with any tasks needed in a busy pediatric office.
Must have strong computer skills, with experience in electronic medical records. Work experience in pediatrics is required.
