What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Monitor (Security) position at Old Colony YMCA Lowell Community Justice Support Center?
This Program Monitor (Security) will be located at the Old Colony YMCA's Lowell Community Justice Support Center which is a community-based facility serving adult male and female clients who are justice involved with a history of addiction.
The Program Monitor is responsible and accountable for monitoring clients and for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and clients. S/He will ensure that clients enter and exit the Center in an appropriate manner and remain in assigned areas and will also be responsible for monitoring and collecting urine drug screens from clients.
Typical job duties include:
- Supervise and monitor clients in all phases of daily routines including break periods.
- Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups
- Take accurate attendance of all clients.
- Maintain accurate communication log entries.
- Collection and documentation of urine screens
- Provide client transportation to/from the Center in program vehicle when necessary
- Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
- Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling clients.
- Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
- Maintain work schedule as directed.
- Perform regular and routine office cleaning as directed.
Education/Experience/Physical Requirements:
- Associates Degree preferred or high school diploma and 4 years experience
- Work some early evenings and cover additional shifts as needed
- Must have a valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
- Must have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of the center.
Job Type: Full-time
