Our veterinary rehabilitation and pain management practice is growing, and the position of Veterinary Client Service Representative and Assistant will be a new role in our small team! Since our practice is limited to rehab and pain management only, we see patients and clients often. We develop deep bonds with them through the rehab journey. You will serve as the friendly face of our clinic, providing exceptional client communication, managing appointment schedules, and assisting with animal care procedures. Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs with professionalism and efficiency
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for pets and team members
- Support clinical procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and aseptic techniques under supervision
- Handle pet care responsibilities including feeding, grooming, kennel cleaning, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness
- Maintain accurate medical records, laboratory logs, and treatment documentation following veterinary terminology standards
- Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions, explaining pet care instructions, and ensuring a positive clinic experience
- Support laboratory work and sample collection to assist in diagnostic testing and treatment planning
- Fill-in where assistance might be needed, whether this in in the exam room, in the dog "gym," or in procedures.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively
- Organization skills to keep workflow and appointments moving smoothly
- Prior client care and animal husbandry background preferred; familiarity with animal handling techniques is essential.
- Experience working as a veterinary receptionist or assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures and laboratory processes is advantageous
- Ability to handle dogs and cats confidently using proper restraint methods
- Knowledge of animal behavior, including signs of stress and interpretation of body language. Familiarity with fear-free handling is a plus!
- Knowledgable in IV insertion, catheterization, medication administration, and aseptic techniques to support clinical procedures
- Comfortable using personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards for staff and animals
- Strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy to assist with patient assessments and treatments
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals and assisting in radiology
