About This Position
This position is responsible for executing a range of document imaging tasks within the Office of the Registrar, with a primary focus on preserving fragile historical records. Key responsibilities include:
Core Duties
- Digitize and safeguard sensitive archival materials such as microfiche student records and paper transcripts to prevent deterioration.
- Prepare, scan, and index paper, film, and electronic documents for long-term digital storage.
- Ensure image clarity and quality, validate document categories, and assign appropriate workflow group box designations.
- Monitor the entire imaging process from preparation through scanning and indexing, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Manage incoming documents through the imaging lifecycle, including final disposition via shredding.
- Remove staples, sticky notes, and other obstructions that prevent smooth scanning.
- Insert header sheets to identify document types and individual records.
- Organize and batch documents with appropriate cover sheets for efficient processing.
- Operate scanning equipment to digitize prepared batches, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout.
- Provide regular status updates to supervisory personnel regarding imaging progress and issues.
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Some experience in an office environment preferred.
