ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

  • Provide outstanding member service and contribute to overall team effort.
  • Fully understand and actively assist members in using credit union products and services.
  • Receive checking and savings deposits - verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.
  • Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.
  • Process savings withdrawals; cash checks - verify endorsement, receive proper identification and ensure validity.
  • Answer basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and member privacy policies.
  • Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks, and cash out US Savings Bonds.
  • Accept loan payments - verify payment amount and loan status, issue receipts.
  • Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
  • Maintain and regularly balance cash and other negotiable instruments, ensure teller station is properly supplied.
  • Refer members to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
  • Refer additional credit union products as appropriate.
  • Perform routine support functions as assigned; including verifications, scanning, filing, reports, and returned mail.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding member transactions and information.
  • Ensure actions are compliant with all credit union policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Customer service experience
  • Multi-lingual capabilities in Spanish preferred
