Behavior Interventionist
Position Summary: The Behavior Interventionist, under the direction of the site principal, assists teachers in providing support and resources to behaviorally challenged individuals or small groups of students; monitors, redirects and modifies student progress regarding inappropriate behaviors and performance; administers intensive behavior intervention programs to identified students; performs a variety of reports as assigned; performs functional behavior assessments and works closely with teachers, administrators, and parents.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- Education: Master Degree required.
- Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Counseling or comparable credentials in counseling, social work, or related field.
- Experience: Three years experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements (If Applicable): 50 lbs lifting, 50 lbs pushing/pulling, bending, and stooping and squatting.
- Administers one-on-one behavior intervention to students in a school or home setting; participates in behavior intervention in-services.
- Collects data and records anecdotal student progress notes; maintains behavioral charting data.
- Monitors and assists students in prescribed learning activities.
- Monitors, observes and report behavior of student according to approved procedures; reports progress regarding student performance and behavior.
- Assists students and parent with emotional supports and community resources.
- Communicates with teachers regarding the individual needs of students; provides input regarding student progress.
- Confers with teacher, as needed, concerning programs and materials to meet student needs.
- Utilize district resources to construct grade level appropriate behavior lessons.
- Runs small group sessions with students focused on behavior modification.
- Classroom observation focused on student classroom behaviors.
- Coordinate a whole school character education program.
- Directs group activities of students as assigned.
- Participates in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
- Performs related tasks as required.
- Promote the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
- Education: Master Degree required.
