Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Full time Job Type Regular Compensation Job Description POSITION TITLE: Grants Programming Specialist LOCATION: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma STATUS: Exempt CLOSING: April 30, 2026 SALARY: $42,000 - $48,000, depending on experience BENEFITS: Full State of Oklahoma benefits, including generous monthly allowance for health coverage, paid sick and vacation leave earned monthly. Paid holidays JOB DESCRIPTION: The Grants Programming Specialist partners with subgrantees to successfully implement funded projects while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. This role conducts monitoring activities, provides consultation and technical assistance, and helps ensure grant funds are used effectively and responsibly. Funding for this position is provided through federal grants from the U.S. Department of Justice. Two positions available. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required, although substantial relevant experience may substitute for education at the discretion of the Executive Coordinator. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Experience with grant administration, compliance, auditing, or program oversight is preferred. Working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to grant programs is preferred. Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and policy guidance and apply them to real-world situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) required; experience with databases or grant management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Access, OKGrants, Workday) is helpful. Experience with basic budgeting, bookkeeping, or financial review is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and develop practical recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships while maintaining appropriate oversight. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required. Ability to travel statewide, including occasional overnight travel. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform on-site and desk monitoring reviews to evaluate subgrantee compliance and performance. Build productive working relationships with subgrantees while maintaining appropriate oversight and accountability. Review financial and programmatic documentation to ensure proper use of grant funds. Deliver clear, practical guidance to applicants and subgrantees on grant requirements and compliance expectations. Coordinate with state and federal partners to support aligned and effective grant administration. Draft monitoring reports that clearly communicate findings, risks, and recommendations. Contribute to required federal reports by compiling accurate programmatic and fiscal information. Support grant boards through meeting preparation, materials, and follow-up. Maintain well-organized, audit-ready grant files and documentation. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with their hands and arms and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust and focus, and the ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more.
