Head Mechanic/Shop Foreman – Part Time $21.34/Hour

This is highly skilled work involving the preventive and routine maintenance, mechanical diagnoses, troubleshooting and repair, of power tools, small engine equipment, light/medium/heavy duty trucks, heavy equipment (gasoline and diesel), and specialized related equipment. Work is performed under the general direction of the Fleet Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares preventive and routine maintenance schedules as determined by time, hours, mileage, manufacturer’s recommendations, oil analysis, historical records, and warranty requirements.
• Performs the preventive and routine maintenance, and repairs of all public works vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains a safe work area.
• Makes repairs of vehicles and equipment in the shop and on job sites.
• Prepares standard equipment specifications for new vehicles and equipment.
• Recommends replacement of vehicles and equipment and obtains prices for replacement(s).
• Performs related work as required.

Requirements:

• High School graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
• Two (2) Years experience in automotive/truck/equipment repair.
• A.S.E. certified in the truck or automotive field, preferred - SUBMIT A COPY WITH APPLICATION
• Valid Florida Driver’s License
