Reports to: Executive Director

Supervises: Program Directors (Men’s Firstep, Women’s Firstep, and PIA)

Hours: 35 hours per week. Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Friday, 9:00 am to Noon. Hours may vary as needed to perform job responsibilities/some remote work possible.


Position Summary

The Director of Operations provides organizational leadership and oversight across all OKC Metro Alliance programs. This position ensures accuracy, ethics, and accountability at every level, guiding teams to operate with integrity and excellence. The Director of Operations works closely with Program Directors to strengthen program performance, staff engagement, and community partnerships while aligning all operations with OKCMA’s mission to increase sobriety, decrease incarceration, and recover lives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide strong, ethical leadership to Program Directors and program staff.
  • Keep leaders engaged, accountable, and connected through regular one-on-ones and coaching.
  • Model integrity, clear communication, and fairness in all decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, compassion, and mission alignment.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all programs meet internal and external safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee incident response, investigation, and follow-up.
  • Reporting & Certification
  • Oversee accurate and timely program reporting.
  • Manage OKARR certification processes and maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Use data to drive trauma-informed and recovery-focused decisions.
  • Financial Oversight
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to track budgets, spending, and inventory for all programs.
  • Ensure resource allocation supports program goals and resident needs.
  • Monitor fiscal responsibility and transparency across programs.
  • Program Quality & Improvement
  • Ensure program integrity and quality through consistent review of phasework, case management, classes, and services.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Support trauma-informed and evidence-based practices throughout programs.
  • Community Partnerships & Representation
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies, worksites, and community organizations.
  • Represent OKCMA at community meetings and events as assigned.
  • Staff Development
  • Identify and coordinate staff training and development opportunities.
  • Promote growth, wellness, and long-term retention for all program teams.
  • Worksite Development
  • Support expansion and sustainability of resident work placements and partnerships.
  • Ensure worksites align with recovery values and program standards.
  • Process & Practice Improvement
  • Review and refine organizational systems for efficiency and clarity.
  • Collaborate across departments to strengthen internal processes and consistency.
  • Crisis Response
  • Serve as the crisis point of contact for program emergencies.
  • Provide on-site support, review incidents, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Grant Collaboration
  • Assist with grant development, reporting, and program alignment with grant objectives.
  • Campus & Program Needs
  • Oversee physical program environments to ensure they are safe, functional, and conducive to recovery.
  • Partner with maintenance and administrative teams on improvement projects.
  • Work Environment and Travel
  • Rotating office schedule across all programs:
  • Rotation follows a set schedule but may change based on program needs.
  • Regular presence at staff meetings (minimum once per month).
  • Occasional attendance at community and partnership meetings.
  • Local travel required throughout the Oklahoma City metro area.


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a field connected to our mission such as social services, human services, or a related area.

  • In lieu of a related degree, candidates with a bachelor’s degree in another field may qualify with experience in nonprofit work, direct service, case management, program operations, or other social service settings. Experience working in recovery, reentry, residential programs, or similar community-based services preferred. Leadership experience in a human-services or recovery-focused environment is strongly preferred.
