Spa - Mind / Body / Pool Attendant

The Mind/Body/ Pool Attendant primary role is to oversee the guest experience in the Mind Body gym and to help support the overall cleanliness and condition of the fitness areas including the gym, the fitness veranda, the spa pools and the spa courtyard. The Mind/Body/ Pool Attendant will also support the operation of fitness programing including: daily complimentary wellness classes, private fitness classes, group hikes/ geocaches and gym operations as needed. They will communicate with leadership about supplies needed to fulfill their role and will work with engineering and our equipment maintenance team to ensure that a clean and functional gym environment is well-maintained, guests are greeted and all standards are fulfilled. As necessary, they will support the efforts of the Spa Front Desk team and contribute to the overall Spa Ojai operation.

• High school diploma or GED is required
• First Aid Training and CPR/AED recommended.
• Group Fitness Certification ideal.
• Ability to communicate in English with guests/visitors to their understanding.

• Is consistently at work on time and ensures work responsibilities are fulfilled
• Maintains a professional demeanor under all situations and keeps emotions under control
• Basic knowledge and fundamental computer skills
• The ability to communicate well with guests, resort management and fellow associates

• Be active in the role of safety and security.

Desirable:

• Some College;
• Experience in hospitality, the Spa Industry, fitness industry or equivalent
• Knowledge of a fitness facility and physiology, fitness equipment and pool environment

• Adhere to all policies and procedures within the spa.
• Responsible for greeting guests and maintaining a healthy, safe and positive relationship with them.
• Communicate on a daily basis with associates and guests to ensure excellent guest service.
• Must be on time, in designated area, interacting with guest, and maintaining the fitness facility.
• Give guidance and answer guest questions in the gym and assist, as needed with instruction of proper usage of cardio and weight equipment.
• Provide basic fitness information, promote fitness activities.
• Help resolve guest challenges.
• Promote Personal Training, hiking, geocache hiking activities.
• Report broken and/or unsafe equipment and conditions and ensure all rules and regulations are enforced.
• Maintain and keep floors cleaned, equipment wiped down and cardio equipment set up with bottle water and rolled towel.
• The ability to set up fitness equipment and lift 50 pounds.
• Ensure spa pools are free of debris and soiled towels.
• Maintain stocked supplies for gym, Mind & Body Studio and spa pools.
• Maintain service standards within the spa.
• Properly handle and report guest accidents.
• Maintain complete knowledge of:
• Ojai Valley Inn & Spa standards of service and conduct training accordingly.
• Spa/Inn features/services, hour of operation.
• Up to date OVI guest special activities.
