What are the responsibilities and job description for the SR Corporate Accountant position at Oilgear Brand?
Summary:
The Senior Accountant will work cooperatively with our Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller in the day-to-day management of the general accounting function. They will also be a key contributor to month end close, lead cash management, and assist in overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Responsibilities:
- Heavily involved in month end close process through journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis including, but not limited to bank reconciliations, prepaids, and various accruals.
- Cash management activities including weekly and monthly bank reporting requirements, daily internal reporting, daily reconciliation, and weekly rolling cash forecasting of 3 months
- Track and Capitalize Fixed Assets
- Assist Accounting Manager with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable reaching key department goals such as DSO/DPO target and timely invoice keying metrics
- Inventory, Goods Received Not Invoiced (“GRNI”) and Purchase Order 3-way match experience a plus
- Complete assigned journal entries and reconciliations accurately and by the due date
- Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls
- Tax and other compliance to include sales and use tax, estimated tax payments, business license renewals, state annual reports, registering for new jurisdictions, and obtaining sales tax exemption certificates for customers
- Other Accounting tasks as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
- CPA/CMA preferred, but not required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in general accounting and month-end close
- Advanced computer skills including Excel and a major ERP system; with Oracle and Epicor preferred
