Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS & Governance Specialist to champion our environmental, health, safety (EHS), and corporate governance initiatives. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies aligned with industry standards such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, and workers' compensation law requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
- Facilitate training & development sessions on safety protocols, emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid, and regulatory compliance for employees at all levels.
- Manage workers' compensation claims process, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and adherence to legal requirements.
- Prepare detailed report writing on safety performance metrics, incident reports, audit findings, and compliance status for internal review and regulatory agencies.
- Promote a culture of occupational health by implementing programs that support employee well-being and safe work practices across manufacturing environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two to five years of experience in environmental, health & safety, sustainability, or regulatory compliance, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of three years of general office experience required in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and exposure to safety management systems required.
- Relevant environmental, health and safety, or auditing certifications preferred.
Pay: $73,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
