About the Role
Ohman Family Living is looking for an experienced Healthcare Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage resident billing and AR operations across our two skilled nursing and assisted living communities — Ohman Family Living at Holly (Newbury) and Ohman Family Living at Briar (Middlefield).
You'll own the full billing cycle, from generating monthly statements to resolving discrepancies and managing Medicaid-related account transitions. We're looking for someone who can step in with confidence — this role calls for direct long-term care billing experience, not a learning curve.
Reports to: Controller
What You'll Do
- Generate and distribute monthly resident invoices and statements
- Manage accounts receivable and maintain accurate resident financial records
- Process payments, EFTs, refunds, credits, and billing adjustments
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate with residents, families, responsible parties, and attorneys regarding balances and payment arrangements
- Bill ancillary services, supplies, and resident charges
- Coordinate Long-Term Care Insurance documentation and billing
- Manage Medicaid-related financial processes and resident account transitions
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
- Maintain resident deposit records and process applicable refunds
- Support admissions, discharges, and account changes
- Prepare reports and documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and leadership
- Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure billing accuracy and timely account resolution
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of healthcare billing and accounts receivable experience
- Direct experience in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, Home Health, Hospice, or Senior Living billing
- Working knowledge of Medicaid, Private Pay, and Long-Term Care Insurance billing
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) or similar long-term care billing software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or business units
- Healthcare collections and AR management experience
