Key ResponsibilitiesIntake
- Review and accept referrals from multiple sources, conducting initial review and collect necessary documentation
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, coordinating with patients, providers and insurances
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Scheduling
- Coordinate initial assessments for healthcare services, ensuring efficient use of staff and facility resources.
- Communicate schedules to patients and staff, addressing conflicts or cancellations promptly.
- Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate urgent needs or changes in patient care needs.
Billing
- Collaborate with an external billing company to process and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing protocols.
- Follow up on billing items as needed, addressing discrepancies and coordinating with the billing company to resolve issues.
- Create private pay invoicing as needed, ensuring timely and accurate billing
- Track payments, follow up on outstanding accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in healthcare administration, with experience in billing, intake, or scheduling.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations.
