Job Description Summary
This position has accountability for the daily operations and supervision which may include Quality Outcomes Management (Performance Improvement), Patient Safety, Accreditation (Regulatory Compliance), and Peer Review. Thus, this position is responsible for the supervision of all outcomes managers, regulatory compliance, and Quality support staff, including hiring, performance evaluation and accountability, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. Similarly, he/she is responsible for assisting the Director of Quality and Safety with the strategic direction of OhioHealth Quality and Patient Safety initiatives, integration of clinical/financial information to maintain or improve quality, development of an appropriate budgets and the daily management of those budgets. He/She provides expertise to appropriate hospital personnel regarding innovations and improvements to the processes of care resulting in improvements in clinical quality and patient safety, and meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements throughout the organization. He/She consults/provides education to physicians and other appropriate departments regarding clinical quality improvement.

Provides Direct Supervision of Quality Outcomes Management Performance Improvement t , Patient Safety, Accreditation Regulatory Compliance e , Peer Review, and Infection Prevention 1. Establishes and maintains efficient and productive work schedules and assignments. 2. Hires, in concert with the Director, all staff in pertinent areas. 3. Conducts performance evaluations for all pertinent staff. 4. Addresses any performance issues with assigned staff.

Proactively manages those campus services which facilitate improvements in patient safety and the quality of the health care delivered 1. Provides education/updates on proven advances in clinical management of specific patient populations, coordination of efforts to improve clinical safety and quality, and effects appropriate changes in the processes of care resulting in demonstrable improvements in safety and quality. 2. Develops and implements strategies for efficient and effective improvements in targeted clinical care processes in response to such quality improvement activities as Root Cause Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, Common Cause Analyses, etc. . 3. Acts as liaison with appropriate hospital departments to increase quality and safety in management of specific patient populations positioning the organization to be among the top quality performance decile among similar health care organizations. 4. Assures the efficient operation of the stated primary areas of operational responsibility

Familiarity with computer technology, and ability to use database and spreadsheets; excellent written/verbal communication and teaching/training skills; Management skills including team building, delegation, performance evaluation, and corrective action planning. 3 yrs Experience managing improvements in quality in a hospital or acute care setting.
