Job Description Summary:
This position performs facility coding and abstracting functions of Inpatient.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)AAPC - American Academy of Professional Coders - AAPC American Academy of Professional Coders, AHIMA - American Health Information Management Association - American Health Information Management AssociationCoding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC or completion of a coding program from an accredited coding program or equivalent Experience and demonstrated knowledge ICD-10CM and PCS classification systems, Advanced Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Inpatient reimbursement schemes. Recent graduates must sit for Certification exam within 90 days of hire and achieve a passing score on the exam. Must be eligible to sit for Certification exam within 6 months of hire or within 6 months of completion of the coding program and pass the AAPC and/or AHIMA Certification exam.
