Position Summary
The Paint Helper will help with the preparation and loading/unloading of steel parts from the paint line and assist with movement of material within the premises.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Prepare, set up, and test paint spraying.
- Apply powder coating when required to fill any surface imperfections.
- Mix coating materials in accordance with specifications.
- Assembly and related finishing of cabinets, based on production demand.
- Utilize pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment to move material within the premises.
- Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
- Work under direct supervision.
- Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
- Powder coating experience is a plus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Simple problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes is preferred.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
- Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Knows commonly used practices, and procedures.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
- Ability to bend, stand, twist, and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
Pay: $17.00 - $24.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
