Job Title: Head Start Teacher
The Lead Head Start Teacher is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a classroom within a full-day full-year or school day-school year setting, ensuring a consistent and enriching experience for young learners throughout the year. This position designs and delivers developmentally appropriate activities, supports children during both structured and unstructured play, and maintains an organized, clean, and secure learning environment. The role includes engaging with families through scheduled meetings and home-based interactions to support each child’s growth and individualized needs. In addition, the instructor provides direction and supervision to classroom support staff, including assistants and floaters, to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Education:
Applicants must hold at least an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field. Comparable academic preparation in relevant coursework may also be considered.
COMPENSATION: Jefferson Co.$22.43- $35.93 Based on Education and Experience.
