The Associate Programmer is an entry-level programmer position. The position supports the production environment by troubleshooting and helping to resolve reported incidents. The position acquires a knowledge base and understanding of policy applications and performs simple maintenance and modification of existing software programs.

Continuous use of the computer and associated extended visual concentration
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds

The Associate Programmer is an entry-level programmer position. The position supports the production environment by troubleshooting and helping to resolve reported incidents. The position acquires a knowledge base and understanding of policy applications and performs simple maintenance and modification of existing software programs.
Essential Functions
- Supports the production environment by researching reported incidents and working with others as needed to bring the incident to conclusion.
- Under supervision and/or peer review, writes and maintains simple source code to accomplish tasks as outlined in project request documentation.
- Participates in the development, testing and implementation of new and modified programs to meet business system user needs.
- Provides documentation of program development and job flow.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists department with special projects and assignments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Actively pursuing degree in IT related field.
- Basic knowledge of various programming skills and common business applications (MS Office, Outlook)
- Good interpersonal communications skills for dealing with users.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
- Must be a logical thinker with strong analytical skills.
