Production Supervisor – Outdoor Mulch Manufacturing Facility
Location: Columbus, Ohio

We produce and sell more mulch in Ohio than any other manufacturer, and our top-quality products are certified by the National Mulch and Soil Council.
We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee operations at our outdoor mulch production facility in Columbus, Ohio. This hands-on leadership role reports directly to the President and focuses on improving productivity and coordinating with transportation to ensure the efficient flow of raw materials and finished products.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise production activities in a 7-day-a-week operation.
- Oversee our 40-acre outdoor mulch production facility.
- Coordinate with the bagging facility supervisor, transportation manager, and maintenance supervisor to ensure efficient overall operations.
- Lead by example—this is a hands-on role requiring presence in the production areas, not behind a desk.
- Manage payroll and balance overtime appropriately.
- Analyze issues, anticipate and resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement changes.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate production goals and deadlines with internal departments.
- Coach, mentor, evaluate, and discipline employees as needed.
Expectations
- Provide daily leadership and support employee development, including working alongside team members when appropriate.
- Apply effective problem-solving techniques to resolve plant issues.
- Supervise crews to achieve high-quality workmanship and operational efficiency.
- Plan parts and materials needed to meet the production schedule.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate production levels and recommend adjustments for greater efficiency.
- Coordinate with transportation to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and shipment of finished products.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing or operations leadership role.
- Proven experience in process improvement within a production environment.
- Ability to implement and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Understanding of industrial maintenance.
- Experience in the mulch manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
