Responsible for the general ledger activities and tasks relative to daily, monthly and annual accounting transactions. Ensure the integrity, accuracy and quality of data and reports. Will work closely with the CFO to provide quality communication to all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with the rest of the organization with a positive, service-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrate values and business principles consistent with the company's mission.
  • Support financial reporting and control systems with due diligence.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all fiscal reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Data entry of invoicing, both accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as reconciling both on a monthly basis.
  • Contribute to the process improvement and appropriate integration between sales systems and accounting systems. Confirm accuracy of financial transactions in both.
  • Process accounts payable via ACH according to policies and procedures.
  • Perform ACH payments and checks received to the correct bank account. Review sales orders and daily cash flows from bank accounts and ensure appropriate receipts have been created to reflect these daily cash flows.
  • Prepare and maintain a statement of weekly cash flows throughout the year.
  • Calculate payroll amounts twice a month within the accounting system and reconcile payroll benefits monthly. Accrue payroll salary amounts before month end close.
  • Assist in the month-end close by reconciling the balance sheet analyses to the amounts in the general ledger.
  • Work to improve efficiency in financial processes and systems and ensure smooth transition between fiscal years.
  • Complete any other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting and 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience required.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals
  • Effectively communicate with other employees, as well as clients and members. Thorough, detail-oriented approach to solve practical problems.
  • Work through situations in which limited information is present with a patient attitude and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt old processes to be more efficient.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Intermediate skill in using excel and it functions to perform job duties (pivot tables, vlookup, sumifs, macros)

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to talk or hear; frequently required to sit; and occasionally required to stand and/or walk. Salary : $53,100 - $70,000
