We are seeking a licensed physician who pairs clinical excellence with a heart for public service and juvenile habilitation.
As the Medical Director for the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS), you will be the clinical architect of our youth healthcare system. Working under the direction of the Deputy Director of Facilities, Programs and Operations, you will ensure every youth in our care receives holistic, high-quality medical services that align with the agency's habilitative mission.

Core Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Strategy
Policy & Quality Oversight: Act as the primary medical director by developing policies and procedures that ensure all medical services are consistent with governing regulations and industry best practices.
Holistic Care: Formulate and implement plans to improve the delivery of integrated medical services at each facility, ensuring a holistic approach to the physical health of our youth.
Continuous Improvement: Utilize quality assurance programs and CQI initiatives to identify long and short-term goals for medical care improvements.
Collaborative Advisory & Partnership
Executive Advisor: Serve as a subject matter expert, advising DYS Superintendents and officials on critical medical issues and crisis management.
External Representation: Represent DYS on internal and external boards related to health care and juvenile medical issues.
Support & Mentorship
On-Site Connection: Conduct regular visits to facilities to meet with medical and administrative staff, fostering connection through problem-solving and peer reviews of on-site providers.
Health Education: Provide clinical input for youth health education programs and in-service training topics for staff development.
Workforce Excellence: Assist in the recruitment, selection, and retention of qualified medical personnel to ensure our facilities are staffed with dedicated professionals.
License to practice medicine as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Sections 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
Must have valid Driver's License
