What You Will Do
- You will work with ODOT staff and partners to establish and maintain pollinator habitats on ODOT right-of-way by planting wildflowers and removing unwanted vegetation using hand and mechanical methods.
- You will perform vegetation and wildlife assessments using scientific survey methods, dichotomous keys, and other identification tools
- You will participate in or leads pollinator education programs with the public. Designs interpretive signage and publications. Manages inventory of photographs and publications.
- You will work directly with state and federal agencies, wildlife biologists, landowners, conservation groups, incarcerated individuals, volunteers, and the general public to expand pollinator habitat across Ohio.
- You will assist with scientific research projects.
- Experience using dichotomous keys and other tools to identify plants and animals
- Experience removing vegetation by operating machinery, power tools, and hand pruners
- Experience with public speaking, developing educational programs, creating interpretive signage, and designing educational publications
- Experience collecting and managing large amounts of data to create reports using Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Geographical Information System software and/or Google Earth to develop basic maps

- Freshman and Sophomore - $19.50 per hour
- Junior and Senior - $20.00 per hour
