What You'll Do
Within the bureau, the Ryan White Part B program team promotes health equity and optimal outcomes for Ohioans living with HIV, via access to quality care. As an Epidemiology Investigator 3, you will broaden and strengthen your existing skillsets in research, project management, program evaluation, statistical analysis, and technical writing. The expertise you bring will help collect and analyze program data that drives improvements in health outcomes and measures program impact. As a lead worker on the team, you’ll have the opportunity to further your public health career and make a meaningful contribution to communities across Ohio.
Primary Duties
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 33 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule.
Educational Transcript Requirements: Official educational transcripts are required for all post-high school educational accomplishments, coursework or degrees claimed on the application. Applicants will be required to submit an official transcript prior to receiving a formal offer of employment. Failure to provide transcripts within 5 working days of being requested will cause the applicant to be eliminated from further consideration.
Please note that a transcript is considered "official" only if it is an original copy from the educational institution and includes an institutional watermark, ink stamp or embossed stamp. Transcripts printed from the institution's website will not be accepted. ODH reserves the right to assess the academic credibility of an educational entity's award of a putative degree.
Minimum Qualifications
6 mos. exp. as epidemiology investigator with local or federal health agency, AND
must be able to provide own transportation

Primary Duties
- Initiates, proposes, and conducts epidemiological projects, research, evaluations, and investigations pertaining to HIV infection within the Ryan White Part B and Ohio HIV Drug Assistance Programs
- Conducts computerized (e.g., SAS) statistical analysis of data from multiple sources
- Determines access to and retention in HIV medical care meeting national treatment standards
- Prepares (or directs preparation of) technical reports from analysis
- Assists with outcome evaluations of HIV prevention, treatment, and service programs
- Provides technical information, advice, and guidance on HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases to other ODH program areas, external agencies, planning groups, advisory boards, and the general public

6 mos. exp. as epidemiology investigator with local or federal health agency, AND
must be able to provide own transportation

- 6 mos. exp. as Epidemiology Investigator 2, 65762, AND

- Experience developing scientific or technical reports
- Experience delivering oral presentations
- Experience working with local health jurisdictions or health care providers
