What You'll Do

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 3301.13 R.C. and performs the following duties:

As a Member Of The IDEA Data Team

  • Contributes to the development of products and analyses such as Special Education Profiles, Special Education Ratings and State Performance Plans/Annual Performance Reports.
  • Provides ongoing internal/external customer service to stakeholders;
  • Develops, presents and/or provides resources for specialized program requests (e.g., respond to communications, travel to locations to conduct site visits, training, events);
  • Analyzes and disseminates policies, standards and business rules to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Identifies areas of educational policy and procedural need through various mechanisms (e.g., collects stakeholder input, data mining);
  • Creates, revises, and disseminates program reports;
  • Reviews changing state and federal laws, best practices, and educational data and research and recommends policy changes as needed to direct supervisor;
  • Determines, develops and/or provides professional development opportunities (e.g., training, workshop, conference presentations) for stakeholders;
  • Evaluates specialized program assistance (e.g., survey, feedback) and/or evaluates training outcomes (e.g., survey, feedback).

Administers state and federal laws, programs, funds, grants, and/or contracts:

  • Researches, compiles data, analyzes reviews, interprets, and completes reports for stakeholders regarding state and federal special education improvement initiatives;
  • Oversees contracts for content, deliverables, and compliance;
  • Reviews and approves reports, invoices and other deliverables from external contracts and monitors progress on program evaluation standards;
  • Coordinates internal workgroups and teams focused on planning for and implementation of program evaluations (e.g., develops agenda, facilitates meetings, ensures roles and responsibilities are assigned, ensures follow through on action items between meetings);
  • Analyzes and synthesizes findings and recommendations from evaluation reports and identifies short and long-term program improvements at multiple levels (e.g., state, regional, and local) to improve services and outcomes for students with disabilities;
  • Coordinates communication and sharing of evaluation outcomes and makes recommendations with internal and external stakeholders, including other offices and centers within the agency;
  • Establishes and maintains collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., participate in work groups, facilitate collaboration events, provide feedback);
  • Facilitates cross-office and agency communication to ensure alignment and leveraging of resources;
  • Creates products, tools and methods for appropriate program implementation according to best practices and established guidelines

Performs Other Related Duties As Assigned

  • Maintains personal schedules and filing;
  • Contributes to office/agency initiatives;
  • Participates in meetings;
  • Stays informed on industry trends;
  • Participates in job-related professional development and ongoing training;
  • Serves on state-wide committees.

  • 72 months experience analyzing and interpreting data and communicating findings to inform services, outcomes, and initiatives for students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing federal and state legislation, developing reports, and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams and projects; completing projects according to prescribed timelines.
