What You’ll Do
- Install, repair, & maintain locks, door hardware, & access control systems
- Perform key cutting, re-keying, & master key system management
- Troubleshoot mechanical & electronic locking systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance & facility inspections
- Respond to urgent lockouts, repairs, & security needs
- Support facility upgrades, renovations, & security improvements
- Maintain key control records, inventory, & compliance documentation
- Experience working with mechanical & electronic locking systems
- Knowledge of master key systems & access control processes
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, & maintain security hardware
- Strong organizational & recordkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations
- Valid driver’s license & ability to travel statewide
- 4-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
- Schedule may vary based on facility needs
- Flexibility required for travel & operational demands
This is a statewide roving position supporting all 8 DODD Developmental Centers:
- Frequent statewide travel to assigned facilities is required
- Exposure to energized electrical equipment
- Indoor & outdoor work environments
- Overtime, call-back, or emergency response may be required
- 12 months of training or 12 months of experience in locksmithing
- 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in inventory control
- Or equivalent Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
