JOB SUMMARY:As a Field Service Technician, Rapid Response provider, you’ll be at the heart of providing immediate, on-site support for urgent equipment issues to minimize customer downtime. You’ll use your skills and experience to deliver top-tier service that keeps our customers moving. You will work in the field from a service pickup truck, servicing and performing:
- Immediate, on-site support for equipment breakdowns or urgent service needs to reduce downtime.
- Focus on fast diagnostics and temporary repairs that allow machines to keep operating until full repairs can be scheduled.
- Electronic and hydraulic system checks.
- Quick fault‑code analysis using Product Link, Service Link, Cat ET, CAT Inspect, CAT Interact, and related software/tools.
- ECM flash updates and configuration adjustments.
- Installation and setup of Product Link or other telematics hardware
- Provide immediate status updates and recommendations.
- Performing Safety Service Letters when applicable
- Escalate major repairs to the shop or full field service teams when necessary
- Adhere to all safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experienced in computer literacy
- In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System)
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment
- Must have a valid driver's license
