What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Handyman position at Ohel Children's Home and Family Services?
We are seeking a responsible individual with hands-on experience in residential maintenance and general building upkeep to ensure residential facilities remain clean, safe, functional, and well maintained. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of routine maintenance tasks including general repairs, sanitation and waste disposal, and day-to-day upkeep.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in residential maintenance or a related field
- Experience in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and plastering is preferred.
- Able to work independently, take initiative, identify maintenance needs
- Respond to repair and upkeep requests in a timely and professional manner
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Valid NY or NJ driver’s license and own vehicle required for daily work
- Ability and willingness to drive an agency van as needed
